- Historical marker titled, "Squires House." Text: "Built 1851 as a one-and-a-half story Greek Revival residence for George Washington Squires, a commercian merchant. The house was remodeled to its present appearance in 1884 by builder James Kelly for William Renaud, a grocer and commercial merchant. In 1920, the Liberty Shop, known for its gowns and regalia for Carnival royalty, began to lease the property. The House of Broel, a dress shop, began operations here in 1970." 2220 St. Charles Avenue. Garden District, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.
